At The Brooklyn Street Local we source as many local and organic ingredients as possible/feasible.
We believe that you should know where your food comes from and what you are eating. We make a whole bunch of stuff from scratch here and if you have questions about anything we make, we can tell you exactly what is in it! Please see our made in-house page for a full list.
Another reason we choose locally and organically grown food is, it is better for our own personal health and it is better for the environment, for the people growing it and the animals whom we eat. We believe that the “golden rule” extends to animals as well, treat others as you want to be treated! If we are going to eat animals, then they should have a good and healthy life prior to that! There is also something amazing about seeing exactly where your food comes from and participating in the process. Every time I go pick up fresh herbs from Brother Nature or Food Field I feel regenerated and relaxed. These farms are oasis’ in the city and I think everyone and every city would greatly benefit from more of them.
