“…we’re at it again…
We’re popping up on Tuesday, April 23rd at Brooklyn Street Local – 5-9pm.
This one is special. I’m cooking the food that makes the kid in me so happy. Planning the menu has been a gang of fun.
I’m a 3rd generation Detroiter…almost all the food I love has a backstory that starts in city.
This menu is inspired by Mr. FoFo’s and the Farmer Jack deli counter…
…my Dad said he’d first had FoFo’s “running errands for Pops” (my grandad loved good food)…
…I went to Spain (elementary and middle school). There was a farmer jack on Warren (across from the medical courts)…there was a time when the only potato salad I’d eat came from either farmer jacks or my Grandmother…don’t get me started on the chicken.
If you’re really from the city, if you think long and hard enough, you remember.
If you’re not, come soak up some Detroit culture rooted in food stories and experiences shared across families and generations.”
